This project focuses on improving the user experience for the rapidly growing demographic of "Solo Cruisers." By integrating a specialized personal safety feature into the existing Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) mobile application, the project aims to reassure solo travelers, providing them with immediate support during potential emergencies while maintaining their independence.
While cruises inherently mitigate many of the typical concerns of solo travelers, navigating emergencies or finding help can be highly complex and varies heavily depending on the ship's geographic location. The core challenge is: How might we reassure solo cruisers with adequate, immediate support in the case of an unsafe incident during their trip without being overly intrusive?
