Life in Recovery: Social Awareness Poster Design

The journey towards a life without addiction can be daunting and the struggles faced on the way often become sources for relapse, in turn, making the process even more difficult. The idea for this poster is to raise awareness about what to expect on the road to recovery and perhaps serve as a small glimmer of hope. This poster is aimed at individuals struggling to decide the option to get unhooked and may also be used to provide positive mental reinforcement for individuals going through the recovery process.

The overall design uses multiple methods to visually communicate data. A clean minimal design approach was chosen to keep the message focused and simple. Careful thought was also put into choosing the color palette. Orange was the prominent color as it represents a call to action, exploration, optimism, and warmth. In contrast, blue was used as it represents trust, responsibility, honesty, and serenity. Slight use of green was used to symbolize harmony, revitalization, and red was used to invoke the emotion of caution.
